CONSHOHOCKEN, PA - United Building Solutions (UBS) has announced the acquisition of DFW Mechanical Group, a Texas-based commercial and industrial mechanical contractor, in a move to enhance its presence in the rapidly growing Southern U.S. markets. The acquisition aligns with UBS’s strategy to expand its national platform of HVAC and mechanical services.
DFW Mechanical Group, headquartered in Wylie, Texas, offers a comprehensive suite of commercial HVAC services, including plumbing, heating, and piping. The company operates in Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Florida, positioning it as a critical addition to UBS’s network. The leadership team at DFW Mechanical will remain unchanged, with President Brett Thomas continuing to oversee operations. Thomas brings over 30 years of industry experience to the role.
"United Building Solutions is a respected HVAC services provider known for its advanced technical expertise", said Thomas. "By joining forces, we can expand our market reach and leverage our combined resources to serve a broader range of customers while upholding our commitment to delivering high-quality, professional services."
According to UBS CEO David Leathers, the acquisition strengthens the company’s ability to meet growing demand for specialized building management services in key Southern markets. "We’re pleased to welcome DFW Mechanical into our expanding network of premier HVAC service providers", said Leathers. "This acquisition further diversifies our array of services and enables us to reach the key markets in the Southern U.S. that are experiencing heightened demand for specialized building management solutions."
This transaction marks UBS’s second acquisition since AE Industrial Partners invested in February 2025. That investment laid the foundation for UBS to establish itself as a national commercial HVAC services platform, starting with the purchase of North Florida-based Total Comfort Solutions.
The addition of DFW Mechanical solidifies UBS’s reach across the Southeast and South-Central regions of the United States while complementing its existing operations in the Northeast. Bryan McElwee, a partner at AE Industrial Partners, emphasized the strategic significance of the acquisition, stating, "Building owners and operators are increasingly recognizing the critical role HVAC systems play in preserving the integrity and performance of their facilities while improving efficiency. The acquisition of DFW positions UBS as a comprehensive, nationally scaled commercial platform that is poised to capitalize on these industry tailwinds."
With this latest move, UBS continues to strengthen its position in the HVAC industry, though financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
