Rexel USA Acquires DEE Electronics, Expands OEM Capabilities

2026-07-16 1:10 pm

On July 14, Rexel USA announced it was acquiring DEE Electronics, a move that broadens the distributor’s reach beyond its core electrical distribution business and deeper into services for original equipment manufacturers.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Founded in 1959 and based in Cedar Rapids, IA, DEE Electronics has more than 200 employees and serves OEM customers across North America. The company provides electronic component distribution, assembly and supply chain services, with capabilities including wire harnesses, cable assemblies, printed circuit board assemblies, control panels, control box assemblies, custom kitting, component sourcing and logistics services.

DEE’s customer base spans HVAC, industrial automation, transportation, agriculture, construction equipment and data center infrastructure. Its components and assemblies are used in systems that power, cool, control and connect critical infrastructure.

The acquisition marks an expansion for Rexel USA, whose main business has centered on supplying electrical, lighting, automation and related products to contractors and commercial, industrial and utility customers. With DEE, Rexel adds a business that combines electronic component distribution with manufacturing and value-added services tailored to OEM production and supply chains.

Rexel USA CEO Roger Little said in the announcement.:

"DEE also increases our exposure to attractive long-term growth markets, including data center infrastructure. As investment in data centers and the technologies that support them continues to accelerate, DEE’s expertise and customer relationships position us to participate in that growth while expanding the services and solutions we bring to customers."

Rexel said DEE will become part of its Advanced Services organization, which is led by Senior Vice President Hani Masoudi. According to the company, the combination brings together DEE’s assembly, sourcing and supply chain capabilities with Rexel’s national footprint, supplier relationships and market reach.

DEE President Todd Gifford said joining Rexel will provide the company with additional resources and expanded supplier relationships while preserving its workforce, culture and customer focus.

The deal follows Rexel USA’s May 12 agreement to acquire Revere Electrical Supply, a Mokena, IL-based industrial automation and electrical distributor with 10 branches in Illinois and Wisconsin. Revere generated approximately $330 million in 2025 revenue and was identified as Rexel’s 16th North American acquisition since 2020.

Rexel USA operates 450+ warehouse storefronts under banners including Rexel, Gexpro, Mayer, Talley and Platt Electric Supply. Rexel was No. 4 for Electrical on MDM’s 2026 Top Distributors Lists.
