Motion Ops Acquires Emitto

2026-10-02 2:53 pm

MotionOps, a Salt Lake City-based software platform for field service businesses, has successfully acquired Emitto, an international communications technology platform focused on business messaging and customer engagement. The acquisition is part of MotionOps' broader strategy to expand its customer communication capabilities. They want to closely connect messaging with the operational workflows that field service companies manage every day.

‍

Emitto is a communications technology platform specializing in business messaging and customer engagement infrastructure, with international reach across markets and channels. The company's technology and technical expertise are designed to support reliable, scalable messaging across a wide range of operational use cases, giving businesses the foundation needed to communicate with customers in real time and at scale. Under MotionOps' ownership, Emitto's communications infrastructure will support the continued development of communication features across the MotionOps platform, including customer updates related to jobs, proposals, payments, scheduling, and field activity.

‍

With this acquisition, MotionOps is strengthening the foundation for customer messaging across its platform and accelerating its roadmap across automated notifications, transactional messaging, customer updates, and other communication workflows. Rather than developing messaging as a standalone feature, MotionOps is integrating communication into the broader lifecycle of a job: from the initial proposal through scheduling, service delivery, invoicing, payment, and job follow-ups. This gives contractors and their customers a single source of truth for every interaction. Speaking about the impact of the acquisition, Trevor Maddux, Co-Founder of MotionOps, stated:

‍

"Customer communication is closely tied to almost every part of a field service operation. The Emitto acquisition gives us a stronger technical foundation to build those interactions directly into the workflows our customers are already using."

‍

MotionOps' continues investment in reducing fragmentation across the field service technology stack, where contractors often rely on a patchwork of tools to send estimates, confirm appointments, process payments, and keep customers informed. By bringing messaging infrastructure in-house through Emitto, MotionOps aims to make communication a more integrated part of the platform while giving operators a clearer view of what has been sent to each customer and when. Reflecting on the deal, Nikola Cvetkovic, Co-Founder of MotionOps, remarked:

‍

"Service businesses shouldn't have to move between multiple systems to understand what was sent to a customer and when. Bringing Emitto into MotionOps gives us a head start in making communication a more integrated part of the platform."

‍

MotionOps is a field service management platform built for contractors in the landscaping, remodeling, and broader home improvement industries. Designed by contractors, the platform brings key workflows: scheduling, quoting, invoicing, payments, time tracking, and client communication into a single system, with first-class support for project-based work including contracts, change orders, progress payments, and multi-day jobs. The platform's mobile app allows employees to clock in and out, upload job photos, add notes, and collect digital signatures on-site, while a built-in HR system helps businesses store employee documents, track skills and performance, and manage payroll based on job-specific timesheets. Businesses that use MotionOps report fewer project delays, better team coordination, and a stronger handle on their cash flow.

‍

The acquisition of Emitto underscores MotionOps' commitment to strategic growth and its efforts to strengthen its position as a leading field service management platform for the landscaping, remodeling, and home improvement industries, while delivering a more integrated customer communication experience for contractors and the clients they serve. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
