Green Summit Landscape Group, Inc., a newly formed platform backed by Century Park Capital Partners, has successfully acquired two Michigan-based landscaping leaders: R&D Landscape and LandMark Landscape. The acquisitions mark the official launch of Green Summit as a full-service landscape, snow, and water management organization in the United States, and strengthen the platform's presence in the Midwest market.
R&D Landscape, based in Lansing, Michigan, is a premier, founder-led, comprehensive landscaping company serving an elite roster of commercial clients and luxury residential customers. The company serves as Green Summit's initial platform investment, with its founders and leadership team retaining meaningful ownership and continuing to lead the business. LandMark Landscape, also based in Lansing, is a highly respected firm established 43 years ago, offering a comprehensive suite of maintenance, irrigation, design, and snow management services to residential and commercial customers. Both companies share a reputation for quality, customer commitment, and employee engagement, making them natural partners for the new platform.
With these acquisitions, Green Summit is expanding its scale, capabilities, and resources for customers and employees while preserving the local culture and operating philosophy that have driven both companies' success. Speaking about the partnership, Clay Carstensen, CEO of R&D Landscape, stated:
"We found a partner that understood what we've built at R&D and respected the people and legacy behind it. Century Park's long-term mindset and collaborative approach allow us to preserve our culture while gaining the resources, capital, and expertise to grow profitably – enabling us to create career paths, growth potential, ongoing learning opportunities, and rewards for our team."
Russ Thorn, Co-Founder of R&D Landscape, added: "Bringing LandMark into Green Summit is exciting because they're a local company that shares our values and commitment to customers, employees, and the community. Together, we gain resources, expertise, and capacity to better serve our clients and employees."
Reflecting on the strategic nature of the deal, Guy Zaczepinski, Managing Partner at Century Park Capital Partners, remarked:
"Both R&D and LandMark are the types of founder-led, service-driven businesses we seek to partner with: firms that have strong leadership, an exceptional reputation, and a culture built around people and customers."
Nat Bacon, Principal at Century Park, added: "Our investment in these companies demonstrates our commitment to the Michigan and Midwest markets, as well as partnering with owners who care deeply about their teams, customers, and communities."
Green Summit is supported by an experienced board with multidisciplinary expertise across landscaping operations, workforce development, sales and marketing, supply chain, finance, and technology. The platform is pursuing a disciplined growth strategy that includes organic expansion, operational and technology investments, and additional acquisitions of leading landscaping, snow management, irrigation, and turf care businesses across the U.S.
Century Park Capital Partners is a Los Angeles-based private equity group established in 2000 that invests in family businesses, owner-operated firms, and corporate divestitures with the goal of accelerating growth and transforming these companies into leading industry players.
The acquisitions of R&D Landscape and LandMark Landscape underscore Green Summit's commitment to building a preeminent landscape, water, and snow management organization in the United States, while preserving the legacies and cultures of the elite businesses that join the platform.
