Go Lime Acquires Comfort Zone Heating and Cooling

Toronto-based Go Lime has made its first acquisition of 2026, adding Cobourg, Ontario-based Comfort Zone Heating & Air Conditioning as it pursues expansion across Ontario through both organic growth and acquisitions.

Comfort Zone was founded in 2005 with a single truck and serves the wider Northumberland region in Ontario. The company, a residential HVAC contractor based in Cobourg, is described as the first in a series of acquisitions planned by Go Lime.

Go Lime said the deal fits a broader strategy centered on acquiring and investing in local independent HVAC home service companies. Jeff Schwartz, president/CEO of Go Lime, said the company’s approach is focused on the people and local reputation already in place.

"We did not buy a customer list. We invested in a group of people who know this county and know their trade. The name on the truck stays the same, because the name on the truck means something in this community."

According to the announcement, Comfort Zone’s existing team will remain in place. Go Lime’s investment is intended to help the company grow its local operations by hiring more technicians, expanding its fleet, and improving response times across Cobourg and surrounding areas, while maintaining its current service standards.

Comfort Zone appears to see room for expansion after the transaction. Lisa Barry, co-founder and operations manager, Comfort Zone Heating & Air Conditioning, said:

"The same people are still here, and the same standards are still here. What is different is what we can say yes to. Hiring more local technicians. Getting to more customers the same day. Investing in training to grow our skilled technician and apprentice team. Those were always the goal. Now we have the means to get there faster."

Comfort Zone has a 4.9-star Google rating from over 855 reviews.

Go Lime established itself as a digital-first HVAC services company that introduced pricing transparency and a range of payment options to homeowners. The brand has also set up kiosks in Walmart stores in Ontario and has a relationship with Home Depot. Last December the company was acquired by UK-based Basalt Infrastructure Partners.

Schwartz said the Comfort Zone transaction is intended as a template for additional growth moves expected in the months ahead, as Go Lime continues to invest in local service businesses across Canada.
