Gardiner Service Company, a prominent provider of building technology solutions in Northern Ohio, has announced its acquisition of IntelliTech Fire and Security, a Medina-based provider of fire protection and building safety systems. While financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed, the acquisition underscores Gardiner’s commitment to expanding its life safety capabilities in the region.

IntelliTech Fire and Security, established by Dan Sammon and Matt Andrews, brings over 40 years of combined industry expertise to the table. The company specializes in a range of services, including fire alarm systems, security solutions, nurse call systems, closed-circuit television, access control, and telecommunications. Additionally, IntelliTech is a licensed distributor for Siemens Fire Protection, further enhancing its technical offerings.

For the remainder of 2026, IntelliTech will continue to operate under its current name as IntelliTech, a Gardiner Company. Following this transitional period, it will merge into Gardiner’s broader operations, forming a unified division under the name Gardiner Fire and Security. This new division will also integrate the Continental Fire and Security brand, streamlining Gardiner’s fire and security services under one cohesive unit.

Gardiner’s leadership emphasized the strategic importance of the acquisition. Todd Barnhart, President and CEO of Gardiner Service Company, had this to say about the acquisition:

"We’re always looking for great partners who strengthen the relationships we have with our clients. Bringing IntelliTech into the Gardiner team does exactly that for our fire and life safety business."

For IntelliTech’s founders, joining Gardiner represents an opportunity to scale their operations while maintaining their client-centric approach. Dan Sammon, Co-Founder of IntelliTech Fire and Security shared:

"For Matt and me, joining an organization with Gardiner’s reputation and team was an easy decision. It allows us to continue serving our clients the way we always have, now backed by the resources and support of a true market leader."

The acquisition of IntelliTech shows Gardiner’s ongoing efforts to expand and enhance its offerings in fire and life safety services, solidifying its position as a market leader in Northern Ohio. As the integration progresses, Gardiner aims to provide its clients with a seamless and comprehensive suite of safety and security solutions.
