Empower Technical Services Consolidates with Rosewood Engineering Acquisition

January 29, 2026

Empower Technical Services, a London-based consolidator with a focus on the UK technical services sector, has finalized its acquisition of Rosewood Engineering. This marks another milestone in Empower’s ambitious buy-and-build strategy aimed at creating a national footprint through strategic acquisitions.

Rosewood Engineering, based in Blackburn, brings over 30 years of expertise in the water and wastewater sector. The company specializes in mechanical installation, refurbishment, maintenance, and confined space entry and rescue services. Its strong track record and niche expertise make it a valuable addition to Empower’s growing portfolio.

The acquisition was supported by Shawbrook’s Corporate Leverage team, which worked closely with Empower’s Chief Executive Nick Manning and the management team to design a tailored funding package. Nick Manning acknowledged Shawbrook’s pivotal role in facilitating the deal, stating: "Partnering with Shawbrook on our ambitious growth journey was a no-brainer. Their understanding of our vision and ability to deliver a funding package that not only supported the acquisition of Rosewood Engineering but also our broader growth ambitions, will be invaluable."

In a statement about the collaboration, Shawbrook Senior Director John Palmer highlighted Empower’s goals and strategic clarity. "Empower’s strategic approach and clear commitment to building a leading technical services group made them an ideal partner. We are delighted to have provided a funding solution that supported the acquisition of Rosewood Engineering and will continue to support Empower on their journey of growth and diversification", Palmer said.

Empower Technical Services, established in early 2025, has been actively expanding its presence across the UK. The acquisition of Rosewood Engineering further strengthens Empower’s position in the maintenance engineering sector and supports its plan to establish six regional hubs within the next five years.

This latest acquisition is part of a series of strategic moves by Empower. In November 2025, the company acquired Bedfordshire-based D-Mec Services Limited, a specialist in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. Earlier in May 2025, it completed the acquisition of Circle Control and Design Systems Limited, an electrical installation contractor.

With its continued focus on integrating regional businesses across sectors such as mechanical, electrical, renewables, facilities management, and HVAC, Empower is steadily building a robust network that aligns with its long-term growth strategy. Rosewood Engineering’s addition serves as another step forward in this endeavor.
