Electrical Equipment Company (EECO), a Raleigh, N.C.-based electrical distributor, has acquired Foster Electric, an independent electrical supply distributor in Lynchburg, Virginia.
EECO just celebrated marks its 100th year in business. The company was founded in Raleigh in 1926.
Under the acquisition, Foster Electric will continue operating under its existing name from its current Lynchburg location. Its current team of 25 associates will remain in place.
The acquisition brings together EECO’s focus on industrial automation and power solutions, with Foster Electric’s nearly 70 years of relationships in the electrical contractor market in Central Virginia. Duane White, President of Foster Electric, said:
"For nearly 70 years, our team has focused on taking care of the customers and communities we serve, and that won’t change. Joining EECO gives us access to greater resources while allowing us to keep operating the way our customers have come to expect."
EECO described Foster Electric as continuing to operate as usual, with the same team, the same location, and the same service approach customers have relied on for decades. Mark Holmes, President and CEO of EECO, commented on the acquisition:
"Foster Electric’s reputation for service and deep roots in the Lynchburg market make them a great fit for EECO. As we celebrate 100 years of serving our customers, welcoming Foster Electric’s team and supporting their continued success as an independently operated part of our company is exactly the kind of growth we want to build on."
The transaction closed on August 11, 2026, and terms were not disclosed.
