EC&M 2026 List of Top 50 Electrical Contractors Named

2026-09-11 6:58 am

Just a couple weeks ago, EC&M released their 2026 list of top 50 electrical contractors.

‍

If you aren't familiar with this list, EC&M is the Electrical Construction and Maintenance magazine that has been running since 1901. Not to be confused with "enhanced care management" or "enterprise content management" if you're searching for it, make sure you use the "&."

‍

The EC&M list is strictly a revenue club. You have to be one of the 50 biggest companies in terms of revenue to make the list. Collectively, the group posted $80.4 billion in 2025, which is a 40% increase from the previous year.

‍

What brought the growth? Big projects involving data centers, power infrastructure, and industrial applications. Of course, there were also higher job tickets due to rising materials costs and labor shortages.

‍

The annual list recognizes contractors based on their position within the U.S. electrical contracting market. Many of these businesses works across electrical construction, instrumentation and technical services, power distribution, commissioning, telecommunications and security systems, and mission-critical construction.

‍

The top 3 companies on the list were:

    1. Quanta Services - $23 Billion, with 300 operating companies underneath, based in Houston, TX
    2. Rosendin - $5.6 Billion, the largest employee-owned company in the U.S., based in San Diego, CA
    3. Emcor - $5.1 Billion, also ranked #1 in Fortune's most admired companies in engineering and construction.

    ‍

Companies from Michigan, Texas, Florida, Utah, North Dakota, and many other states made the list.

    ‍

New River Electrical Corporation, a 100% employee-owned company in Virginia, rounded out the Top 20 list with $942M in revenue, getting closer and closer to that billion threshhold.
