APR Supply Co., a fourth-generation, family-owned plumbing and HVAC distributor now in its 104th year of business, has announced that it has entered the due diligence phase to acquire Mutual Wholesalers.
Mutual Wholesalers, out of Wheeling and Huntington, West Virginia, is a respected supplier of plumbing, pipe, valves, and fittings that has served contractors across the Ohio Valley since 1973. The move, if completed, would give APR its first location in West Virginia and extend the company's Mid-Atlantic footprint into a new state.
Mutual Wholesaler's operation is not only a supply house, but also features a full plumbing, kitchen, and bath showroom, including water heaters, fixtures, and a well-known hearth and grill business. Over more than five decades, Mutual has built its name on deep product knowledge, strong inventories, and multi-generational customer relationships across the Wheeling market. Under the leadership of President Len Rogers, the company has established a reputation for trust and partnership with contractors and builders throughout the region.
With this planned acquisition, APR intends to operate the Wheeling location from the same address and build on the product lines and service that customers already count on, adding the depth of its HVAC, hydronics, and PVF (pipe, valves, and fittings) business. Speaking about the potential transaction, Scott Weaver, Owner and CEO of APR Supply Co., stated:
"Mutual has spent over fifty years earning the trust of contractors and builders across the Wheeling market, and that reputation is exactly why we want to be here. We are not coming in to change what works. We are coming in to back it, with more inventory, more product lines, and the support of a company that has been in this trade for over a century."
The agreement covers Mutual's Wheeling, WV operation only. The company's Huntington, WV location is not part of the transaction and will continue under Len Rogers' ownership as he focuses his efforts on that branch. Reflecting on the decision to partner with APR, Len Rogers, President of Mutual Wholesalers, remarked:
"Reaching this agreement with APR was an easy decision once I got to know them. They run their business the way we always tried to run ours, close to the customer. I'm confident the Wheeling team and the customers they serve are in good hands, and I'm looking forward to keeping my focus on our Huntington location."
The move fits APR's broader growth strategy, which has steadily expanded the company's branch network across the Mid-Atlantic through both new locations and acquisitions. I covered APR Supply Co's acquisition of McArdle & Walsh in the first month of 2026. The addition of Wheeling would extend that footprint, providing a platform for further growth throughout the Ohio Valley.
Headquartered in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, APR Supply Co. operates more than 43 locations throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, and Delaware. As a fourth-generation, family-owned business, APR has built its reputation on long-standing customer relationships and a deep commitment to the trades.
The pending acquisition of Mutual Wholesalers' Wheeling operation underscores APR Supply Co.'s commitment to strategic growth and its ongoing efforts to strengthen its position as a leading regional distributor of plumbing, HVAC, and PVF products across the Mid-Atlantic and Ohio Valley regions.
